The Anatomy of Noëlle

Written by: Noelle Borrelli-B0udreau

Noëlle Borrelli-Boudreau is currently a senior majoring in Arts Management (graduating class of fall 2021), and is President of the MCLA Fashion Club. Noëlle has always loved Italian and baroque fashion due to her highschool being overseas. Noëlle has been engulfed with the Italian culture of opera and strives to sew each garment with that presence. The garments you will watch on this virtual spring 2020 fashion show is a total of nine pieces.

La Boheme

The Collection of ‘La Boheme’ consists of the printed fabric of the original poster created by Ricordi for the 1895 opera. With a La Boheme printed coat, cocktail dress, and two piece business attire, this collection is complete.

La Vie en Rose

The Collection of ‘La Vie en Rose’ consists of the different arrays of purple, in which one would assume royalty. With the French and Italian twist of traditional garments, you will see a ‘La Boheme’ mosaic silk gown, a Chinese button cocktail dress, and two purple tulle cocktail gowns with a 'Dolce and Gabbana' essence.

Turandot

The Collection of ‘Turandot’ shows the power of women through different ancient cultures. The first gown you will see a high Egyptian collar gold velour gown, with asymmetric straps on the back. This gown nods at Cleopatra and her reign. For the last gown, is a renaissance depiction of Turandot with the printed opera poster and the purple velvet, it depicts luxury and strength.
